"McGuffey Ana" is a character from the McGuffey Readers, formally McGuffey’s Eclectic Readers, series of elementary school reading books that were widely used in American schools beginning in the 1830s. McGuffey Ana has been an inspiration for the Alexander Doll Company for since the 1930's and produced in many face sculpts and sizes. This darling doll is an 8" blue-eyed, blonde with a perfect Classic Wendy sculpt. Her pristine outfit features a red plaid dress with lace trim and white collar. The white pinafore has a scalloped hem, white-on-white embroidery and ties in back in big bow.Thigh high stockings; lace trimmed, white pantaloons and petticoat; brown boots with white spats trimmed with tiny brown buttons and natural straw hat with green satin streamers and wild flowers complete our little prairie girl's irresistible look.
